PSYCHOTHERAPIST

What might it be like for you to work with me?
In meeting another in therapy we are confronted by one of the major dilemmas of human existence, that we are all unique and yet we are all alike. Woundedness has arisen in us principally because other people (important to us) have not been able to understand, appreciate and value us or our experience As a consequence we have not felt confirmed and have therefore found it difficult to value and appreciate our own experience for ourselves. None of us, it seems. ever received the full confirmation and acknowledgement that we needed. The therapist, therefore, is faced with a client who’s principal need, in this new therapeutic relationship, is to feel, deep in his or her heart, that the therapist understands them or is at least making their best human effort to understand.

Robert? Sometimes you encounter something or someone that completely shifts the gravity of your life direction… a path correction, a life adjustment, and you are never the same again. You finally meet someone who can give voice to things you barely can whisper to yourself… let alone dare to think it out aloud; someone who can tell you uncomfortable truths with courageous honesty infused with kindness, who welcomes you in a way you never thought possible, who shows up so unapologetically as himself, that you start believing in new possibilities for yourself. And that changes everything. S.
Robert has been like a solid rock and phenomenally supportive on my transformational journey during and after my divorce. He has a heart of gold. His generosity, kindness and patience are parallel to none. I feel blessed to have him as my therapist for his unconditional love and profound knowledge and experience as a Gestalt therapist. I can’t vouch for him enough! M.
Thank you for guiding me through this journey. It’s been quite a revelation for me, and I know a big part of it, if not all of it, is because of how you’re guiding me, how amazingly good you are at this. A.
It is hard to do justice in only a few lines to the experience I have had over the last few years of therapy with Robert. I’ve learned to see and understand parts of myself in such a way that I am more compassionate and accepting of who I am. Robert has a beautiful way of illuminating the heart of things with kindness and humour, and we had a lot of fun along the way. P.

In 1998 I spent four years training in Gestalt therapy. As a mandatory requirement of my training I had two years of personal therapy. I have worked with childhood abuse, depression, addiction, suicide ideation, relational disfunction and many other things that challenge us. I have facilitated therapy groups, mentored other therapists and taught therapy. I lived in Australia and Italy and now reside in Wales. I have also written seven books of fiction, but that’s not relevant here.
Unless you happen to live near me we would talk on the phone (I find ‘audio only’ the most intimate and effective method).
You can email me at gedformation@gmail.com
and I can send you a link to a video of me talking about a small part of the therapeutic process so that you can see what I look like.
An hour’s therapy would cost you €80/$AU140/£70
For me, therapy is no longer about tools and theories. Now it requires that I turn inward and that I seek to become the highest expression of who I am as a person and to work, as one human being with another, to uncover together the way forward.
